As a professional fangirl I have amounted my fair share of ships. For those of you who don't know what a ship is, it's a relationship you really like and support. I have many ships and to be honest I'm sure that there are many I forgot and that at some point this list will change.  But as of right now these are my top ten fictional ships.

Disclaimer: while I love all these ships with all of my fangirl heart, I want to say that there's more to all of their stories than just romantic relationships.

10. Hannah and Caleb from Pretty Little Liars.

9. Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy. I have to admit I had a giant book crush on Dimitri. I really loved this series and this relationship still remains one of my top ships.

8. Tessa and Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices. Yes I know that there are three people in this ship. I ship Jessa and Wessa all the same. It's so hard to choose one or the other.

7. Meredith and Derek from Grey's Anatomy. I'm a giant fan of this show and although I've hated them both at different points of the emotional roller coaster that is Grey's Anatomy, they both fit so well together.

6. Cath and Levi from Fangirl. They are too cute and I can't even.

5. Lincoln and Octavia from The 100. This is one of my favorite shows of all time and Linctavia is one of my favorite ships ever.

4. Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. Bucky and Steve is the only couple on this list that isn't cannon and maybe won't ever be. But the truth of the matter is they are a great team. They both mean the world to the other and would do anything to help each other out. That being said I LOVE Peggy and I ship Peggy and Steve hardcore as well.

3. Mara Dyer and Noah Shaw. Noah Shaw gave me really high expectations in the guy department and remains my biggest book crush ever. That being said, Mara is one of my favorite characters ever! I love these two so much.

2. Finn and Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. OMG! I love these two so much! TFA is a really good movie and I really enjoyed it. I love Finn so much, he is on of my favorite characters ever. Rey, on the other hand, I love just as much. They work so well together! I can't wait for the next installment!

1. Clarke and Lexa from The 100. I love their dynamic and the way they relate to each other. The politics of it all complicate their relationship but I feel like at the end of they day they understand each other in a way that no one else really does. I am I die hard Clexa fan and I'm so beyond excited for whats in store for this season!

Back To School: Movies and Books

So it's that time of year. Some of us still have summer left. Some of us are going back to school this month. I'm part of the latter group unfortunately. I still have vocab to do and books to read and it's crazy to think that this is my last week of summer. But I thought that this week would be a great time to do a back to school list. I will be posting every day this week. I'll do some survival tips, a playlist, OOTD inspiration, and other stuff. I think this is going to be really fun!! So to kick off the series here are some books and movies that deal with school stuff.

Books: I actually have to read some books for school so I don't have too much time left to read but I will definitely try to squeeze some of these in

1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. High school sucks and I think this book captures the hardships you face in school. It's hard to make friends, it's hard to be a teen preparing for tomorrow, it's hard to be in love. It's an amazing story that just needs to be read. 
2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Because it's a story about an awkward, nerdy girl, trying to survive college. You will most likely identify with her at some point of the book. 
3. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger. I don't really have a reason for this, it's just an awesome book!
4. Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. Let's just pretend for a moment we're all going to Hogwarts and that we all have magical powers.
5. A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall. Because who doesn't need a cute love story?

Movies:I'm probably going to watch these and rewatch some marvel films. 

1. Mean Girls. Because come on, it's Mean Girls. 
2. LOL. Yes I actually really like the Miley Cyrus movie. I'm not sure why, but I love this movie and I watched it last year before I started school. 
3. Clueless. It's hilarious! I love everything about this movie!! I actually watched this because a friend told me too, and I loved it!
4. Grease. It's a classic! Who doesn't want to sing along to  "Your The One That I Want"
5. Harry Potter Movies. Its your last chance to have a Harry Potter Marathon! I suggest you start now!!

Top Ten Characters That are Fellow Bookworms

I love this weeks prompt. It's always nice to read about people who love books as much as I do. It's nice to find kindred spirits in the books I read. To be honest I would probably be best friends with all of these people.

1. Cath from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I mean she writes fanfiction.She's a top tier book worm and I love her for it. She's so into the world of Simon Snow that she's invested her own time and energy to make it her own. I think it's awesome. I also can't wait to read Carry On, which is going to be an actual book. How awesome is that?
2. Sam from Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. I love this book and I love the poetry aspect of it. I love how it's through words that people heal and grow in this novel
3. Meggie from Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Inkheart trilogy. Meggie has grown up with a love of books her whole life. Her father and her go and buy used books, save old books, and not to mention bring book characters to this world. It's all really awesome.
4. Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series. Hermione Granger is just an overall badass and I love her bookish side. She reads for fun and thoroughly enjoys learning and understanding things. She gets things done and honestly where would Harry and Ron be without her?
5. Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Charlie has got this cute, shy, bookworm personality that makes me want to just hug him. He does book reports for fun and reads amazing novels. I used to love writing book reports too. It would essentially be me fangirling over the book I just read.
6. Liesel from The Book Thief by  Markus Zusack. I LOVE this book. It's so sad and beautiful and just wow. Liesel has this affinity for books and storytelling that's just amazing. 
7. Tessa Grey from the Infernal Devices. "Words have the power to change us"
   
8. Celaena from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. She is badass with a soft spot for books. She understands the power of the written words and I love her even more for that. While I did find this book to be a little bit overhyped and a little disappointing I did enjoy it overall.
9. Hazel Grace Lancaster from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Granted she was really only obsessed with  one book, but whose to say that she never had a connection with another book. She went out to Amsterdam to meet the author with Gus, she was a total book fangirl. Granted the author was a jerk.
10.  Clay Jannon from Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Book Store by Robin Sloan. The guy works at a magical book store. What can I say?

My Musings:

I have an anxiety disorder. That means I get really nervous in random situations and it means I end up having panic attacks. My mind is generally not a happy place to be. That's true for mops people. We worry, we think too much, we live in dangerous thoughts sometimes. That's why this book fought my attention.  "If you could read my mind, you wouldn't be smiling". Aside from the pretty book cover the summary is so intriguing and, at least for me created a relationship with Sam from the get go. Right off the bat I was excited to read this book and was so happy to get my hands on a copy of it.

Plot wise this books was incredible. At times it was very much character driven, but there were a couple twists that were just bankers. There one at the end that pretty much shattered my soul. This story line is incredible. It had me laughing, and crying, and smiling, and wanting to give the characters hug. Essentially it makes you feel everything a book is supposed to make you feel. This is honestly one of the best books I've read in a while. The plot is very well developed and everything fits together nicely, so to speak. It's realistic and very well written. I love the idea of having a poetry corner and I really wish my school had one. I wish we had a place to escape reality with other people who cared about one another completely and totally. Writing for me is such a cathartic and fun experience that I couldn't help but love the whole premise of words helping someone heal and become who they wanted to be. The story line moves pretty fast and it's such an amazing ride. I honestly couldn't put it down. I'm pretty sure I've even annoyed my family with my refusal to do anything but read.

There were so many small things in this book that helped make me fall in love with it. Like the poems. Caroline Poems made me cry. And I loved being able to find pieces of me in every single one of the poems in the book. I loved the descriptions. I loved how Sydney writes her poems on fast food wrappers. I love how the poetry corner is decorated. I love Shrink Sue. Okay now I'm just fingerling lol

The characters were impeccable. They were so beautiful and flawed and realistic and heartbreaking and just so awesome that I couldn't help but love them. I love Caroline and Sam and AJ and every one in the Poets corner. I loved how it was so easy to hate but understand the "mean girls". They sucked as people but you couldn't help but understand them and understand why Sam didn't want to leave the "crazy eights" or so they were called. One thing that stood out for me, that was extremely important, was how the author made sure to make all the characters real people. They had different sides to them, they had their own voices, they were unique. Sam is more than just her OCD. She's a person and the author never treated her different because of it. Sam has OCD but the author created such a rich, and awesome character that 1)made me feel like we could have been friends, Sam and I and 2) stressed the fact that Sam was more than her mental disorder. AJ is so cute and so dreamy. I love him! Caroline *sigh* I love the girl. The characters are likeable and have you constantly rooting for them. None of them are perfect they have their flaws, they've made mistakes, they all have something and that's what makes them real and likable.

Romance is something that I do like to read about. But I think that it was awesome how romance wasn't the driving point of the entire novel. It was a strong supporting part but it wasn't driving the plot car or was it riding shotgun. It was in the backseat. This helped the characters shine through as well as support the message of the novel.  But I will say that the romance was cute and slow paced and realistic and did I say cute? I loved it and I totally ship Sam and AJ.

People deserve to be around people whole care about them. Life is always going to pushing things in your way, making things hell for you sometimes and you need to learn to be you, and you need to find people who accept you. You need to take care of yourself, and be loud, and take up space, instead of making yourself small for people who don't really care. This book has had an incredible impact on me and I can't even express how much I love this book. So read it!!!!

Why do I want to read it?

Well I LOVE Fangirl, I LOVE fanfiction. I LOVE Harry Potter. This book sounds like an awesome mix. I just can't believe this book is even real and I can't wait to read this. I didn't even know that this book was a thing but i'm so glad I was just chillin on Barnes and Noble. com. I'm so excited. I know i'm going to love it because it's Rainbow Rowell, but I'm even more psyched because of the fact that this is Cath's fan fiction, come to life. I think this is just amazing. Top Ten Tuesday

This weeks theme is top ten books that I would read with my book club if I had a book club. Now, I've been in book clubs before and when I was younger it was fun and awesome. As a sophomore I tried to get back into it but I didn't a)know anyone b)they weren't too open to new people. So that didn't end well. Technically though, because a lot of my friends are book nerds and love YA fiction we all tend to read the same books and vent to each other so it's kind of like having a book club. So With my non-official book club i'de love to read...

1. Harry Potter books by J.K Rowling.You can never ever fangirl enough over Harry Potter. These books are amazing and I'm sure anyone one would be down to read them again. 
2. The Selection. I have a confession. I've never actually read these or pecked them up. I've heard people rave and recommend this book to me like crazy, yet I still haven't picked up the series. I definitely want to and I'm sure it would make me read them faster if I knew I had people I could talk to and vent to. 
3. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. Because this series made me cry. Because these characters are some of my favorite. Because of all the damn feels I get from this book. Ted just about sums it up. I need to share this experience with people. I've done it once on my own, why not have people who understand my fangirl emotions? 
4. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia. I don't think this has come out yet, but I feel like this book would be great for a book club. It's about schizophrenia and a girl who deals with it and continues to have a normal life. I feel like by sharing this book with other people and talking about it, you are also able to talk about mental health and the stigma around it. (Jacksgap made a video I really liked about this). This is an important issue to discuss and I think that this book will allow for people to gauge a whole new, and hopefully more accepting understanding of mental health. 
5. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. Or more accurately the Trilogy.These books are so creepy, so good, so cute, so amazing that it warrants a lot of hypothesizing and fangirling. 
6. Court of Thrones and Roses. This is by Sarah J. Mass. I read Throne of Glass with my last book club, it seems fair to read this one with it as well. I love Sarah J. Mass and I feel like this book wouldn't let us down.
7. Cinder Series by Marissa Meyer. I've only read the first one. (review here) but I already know that i'm going to need people around me who will understand what I am going through and freak out with me. 
8. Vanishing Girls Lauren Oliver. I think this would just be fun to read and see how other people react to it. 
9. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowel. Seeing as my main reasoning for joining a book club now is mainly for fangirling and having people to fangirl with it only makes sense that we read Fangirl.
10. City of Savages by Lee Kelly. Because this looks cool.

Why do I want to see it?

I read this book when I was 11. I fell in love with it completely and too see it grow and have more and more people like it and understand what I felt when I read it was amazing. I actually think they might do a good job with movie, and i'm excited to see everything play out in front of me. The actors are great, the music seems really good, I AM SOO EXITED.

My Musings:
I cant even begin to count the amount of people who told me I needed to read this book. That they know I would love it. That it was an amazing book worth fangirling over.
Let me say that they were absolutely right. I thought that this book was not going to live up to the hype around it. That i was going to be disappointed. I'm really happy I was wrong. Its beautifully written. I love Cinder's sarcastic voice, Kai's charming personality, and Iko's funny bursts of humor. This combination made for the perfect book cocktail.
     Characterization was ok. The only characters that were fully developed were Kai and Cinder. Everyone else we just saw shallow characters that only served to play a simple clean role. I wish we could have seen more of Peony, or learned more about her. Or maybe learned more about Cinder's step family. I get that her stepsisters and step mom and inherently evil and have to play the role of the villains but if we can make Cinderella a cyborg we can learn more about her evil family right? Like why is it that Peony actually likes Cinder? Why hasn't her stepmother poisoned Peony against Cinder. I can't help but wonder if this is going to be explored in future novels? However, Cinder and Kai were well developed for the most part. You got to see the Prince as a sarcastic teenager who has to deal with a lot political issues. Cinder just wants to fit in somewhere.
     The plot and world building was absolutely amazing. I loved how fast past the novel was. There was always something around the corner ready to happen. And I loved every second of it. As soon as I started it i was hooked. I needed to learn more about this world and how things worked in this futuristic place. I had to learn more about Cinder's life and about the politics of the Commonwealth. The author did a fantastic job in terms of creating a futuristic world that felt believable. I loved the plot. I loved Cinder's role in it.
*SPOILER: I knew after Cinder found out she was Lunar that she was the long lost princess. I did like this twist though. SPOILER DONE*
      Romance factor of this novel was beautiful done. I liked that the story didn't revolve around Kai and Cinder. It just happened to be a factor of the story not the star if it. I liked how they fell in love and how their relationship developed. It was slow and cute, exactly my type of romance. I loved how they both share their sarcastic humor. Kai is such a gentleman and you can see he genuinely cares about Cinder. He is absolutely adorable. I love him
      Overall this book contained amazing story line within a well created world with really likable characters. Its a great read that I think is worth reading and yes fangirling too :)

Night Before Our Stars Review + Random Ranting/Fangirling

    Okay so my review might be a little late, but I figured better late than never.
     If you read the book you know that there is no way to watch this without bringing tissues. So I did. I walked into the movie theater, clutching the poster and the bracelet in one hand and my tissue box in the other. I read the books and I knew there was absolutely no way I was not going to cry. I have to admit I wasn't actually too worried about the movie. The trailers and John Green's approval of the movie made me feel like this could actually be a good movie
      As the movie started everyone in the theater started to scream. My friend whispered to me "all the fangirls are here right now". I replied "I know i'm one too". You could tell that everyone in the theater loved this story and where excited to see this story come to life. In other words there was a lot of screaming,"awwing", and sobbing. It was a great experience because I knew everyone in there was just like me; ready to see this beloved story come to life.
     The movie itself was amazing. Like literally I have no words to describe the perfection that is this movie. The actors really became Hazel and Gus and Issac. It felt so familiar and new all at once. I loved how true to the book the movie was. They did leave out a few things but to be honest I didn't even care. Most book to movie adaptations change the story too much, this movie didn't do that and I think that's what made everyone one love it. It satisfied the fans of the book and made those who were unfamiliar with the story fall in love with the story and the characters. The thing I loved most about it is that it kept the the message the same. It proved how a short life can still be a good one and that to live a good life you don't have to be loved by many, you just need one.
     The acting was phenomenal. The acting was so sincere and genuine. Ansel Elgort really was Gus for me. He brought out this boyish charm that I always pictured Gus having. And when the cancer came back Ansel really delivered in terms of the vulnerability and emotion. It was perfect. I legit started sobbing as soon as he brought Hazel out to the bench and uttered the saddest sentence in the history of life: "I lit up like a Christmas tree Hazel Grace". I didn't stop crying until the end. I'm not even ashamed. I'm actually surprised I didn't cry more. Shailene Woodley was so good. I sobbed when she sobbed, laughed when she laughed. It was just like the book.
     Okay now for the soundtrack. I really LOVE the soundtrack. I got it as soon as I got home and have been listening to it nonstop since. I'm listening to it right now. I'm listening to Tee-Shirt by Birdy. I think that the music really captured the emotions of the film and were perfect for the film. I can't tell you just how much I love the music for the movie.
      If you haven't watched the film yet I suggest you do, like soon. Its amazing and totally worht the tears you will shed. You will walk out feeling the same as when you read the book. You will see life and love and pretty much everything differently.

My Musings:
     I've been fangirling over Fangirl since before I even read it. I saw it on goodread and I thought to myself if i could ever have a book soulmate it would be this. Among my friends i'm known for my fangirling. It's really bad. I was in the movie theater for Catching Fire a few months ago and some of the previews were book trailers and i legit was squealing and jumping up and down in my seat. OVER A TRAILER. Speaking of trailers I can't seem to not cry whenever i watch the full trailer for TFIOS. Anyways i think I've established i'm a fangirl myself.
     Ok now for the actual review. I honestly can saw that I fell in love with this book from the get go. 
     I loved Cath's narrations and the way she thought and described things. I loved her little quirks and her nerdy personality. If she was a real person she would definitely be someone I'd want as a friend. I enjoyed reading about Cath and her journey to become her own person, become, independent, and grow up into such an awesome person. Cath relies on her fanfic about Simon Snow to help her cope with her new found loneliness and her ever present shyness.This aspect of the story was great. It didn't overwhelm the book, but served its role. We even get to read snippets.
     Character-wise, Rowel did amazing. All of the characters felt real to me and I found myself caring about each one of the characters. I think a sign of a really good book is being able to feel like the story is real and Rowel does this flawlessly. I really like all the side stories that surrounded Cath. Like her sister's story, or her dads. I adore Rowel's witty, smart and funny writing style. 
      It was interesting to read about Cath's relationship with her family. Poor Cath was thrown into college life without so much as a speck of support and kindness from her twin sister Wren. I found this sad, but at the same time I understood that booth sisters needed to find their identity outside of each other. I loved her dad! he kept pushing her to do what she needed to do but was often to scared to do. And when push came to shove I loved watching Cath's family rally together.  
      Romance time! Levi. What can i saw other than he is so perfect. I love him to bits. Especially his eyebrows lol. I like when books have a slow burning, slow happening romance because it makes it feel more real, plus you have more time to decide if you ship it. It also determines the strength of the ship. And let me tell you i ship these two so hard. The only slight issue with the book was that at the beginning of the novel i wasn't sure who was the love interest. Weather it was Levi or this other guy named Nick. Aside from the unsure-ness at the beginning, the romance was eloquently written

1. Fan Art by Sara Tregay, seems like such a cute read! I'm such a sucker for contemporary romance novels :)

2. #Scandal by Sara Ockler seems like cutesy, girly read. Totally perfect for unwinding on a hot summer day, or relaxing at the beach. 

3. Complicit by Stephanie Kuehn appears to be a dark creepy read. Sign me up!

4. The Fever  by Megan Abbott is so interesting. I can't wait to read this!

                                    

5. Don't Forget About Me  by Kate Karyus Quinn I don't know what it is that intrigues me more the paradise thing or the whole murderous town stuff, but either was I want to know how this ends.

6. Inland by Kat Rosenfield. Vaguley psychological. Hmm sounds like my type of book!

7. Best for last, the thing I have been waiting for since I heard about the movie is finally here. TFIOS Movie is actually happening. It's coming out this Friday. I can't. The feels at this very moment are very high. Now imagine when I go to The Night Before Our Stars Showing. I'm pretty sure i'm going to faint due to my overwhelming fangirl emotions.
