Dear Matt Murdock,

20 June 2015

Maybe it's the fact that it's midnight.

Maybe it's the fact that I just rewatched Daredevil. Maybe it's the moody, sad music I'm listening to. Maybe it's just me. But I've been thinking a lot about how everyone has different sides to them. Some ugly, some beautiful, some annoying, some vaguely racist, some naive, and some dark. You struggled to find the good in the things you did because the law told you it wasn't good. You struggled to see yourself as hero because it was hard to see the good in a pretty much grey world. What you did was a felony. Evil some might say. But knowing the full story, I know better, I know that despite your bloody fists, your broken body, the devils inside you, that you are good. I know that because of who you fight for. I know that things get messy and nothing is ever really black and white, but just because you live in a messy world doesn't mean your a mess. I'm not saying you're perfect, what I'm saying is you a good person.

I'm at a point in my life where I have to figure shit out. I have to know things about who I am and who it is I want to become. I have to choose which side of me to act on. But the things it's so hard to figure that out when one minute I'm the angsty, angry teen, the next a full fledged adult (maybe I'm being a little dramatic). One minute I'm fine then next I'm freaking out about all the tomorrows to come. But what i've figured out in these couple weeks of summer is that just because I'm unsure about things, about who I am, the road I'm going to take, my hair, my everything, that doesn't make me a mess. It makes me a person. Not unlike you. I mean you tried to avoid becoming this badass vigilante for such a long time. You fought to ignore the cries of your beloved city until you couldn't. And you discovered this new side of you. A side you probably repressed. A side you were afraid to ever explore. Now you're battling with morality, your morality. Because sometimes you let the devil out and you wonder if that makes you a devil or a hero. It's a fuzzy line not gonna lie, but I don't think you are bad. I think It takes more than some questionable moral decisions to make someone bad. I mean we all make some sketchy choices at one point or another.

I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this but I think what I'm trying to say is that I want to be a good person. And I'm worried about tomorrow. And I know you don't have everything figured out, I mean no one ever really does, you know, but you know yourself. I want that. You might not know where you fit, but you know who you are. You are Matt Murdock. You are an avocado at law. You are a badass, masked, vigilante.

Most people know what it's like to pretend. Pretend to be happy, pretend to be okay, pretend to be someone else. But you're on a whole different level of pretending. You legit have this whole other life filled with danger and chaos and hurt. I'm not trying to romanticize that life either because like Claire said martyrs always end up alone and bloody. But you chose this because you love Hell's Kitchen. You fall and get back up again, so determined to do what needs to be done to help the people you love and the city that you call home. I love that quote, the one you and your dad have, "It's not how you hit the mat, but how you get up".

I feel like right now for me, this quote is just perfect.  I feel like everything is happening too fast. Too many punches are being dealt out and I just can't block them all. Which means I find myself on my ass a lot. Maybe it's because I feel like my SAT score needs work. Maybe it's because I have course work I'm working on now. Maybe it's my "raging" teenage hormones. Maybe its some of the people around me. It's probably all of the above. I'm working on staying up. On just holding my ground. I need to remember that I have to get up and move on and just deal with life instead of holding pity parties for myself. I think thats something most people have to work on. It's human nature to be selfish and thus want to feel bad for ourselves. That's why we need to learn a thing or two from you, from Foggy, from Karen, from Ben, from Claire. We get up and fight some more. You have slightly bigger demons than me but you know the SAT is one giant monster.

Anyways Matt, I don't think this is going to be my last letter to you, I'm pretty sure you and I are going to be venting buddies, deep thought sharing people, or something like that. So thanks. Thanks for showing to me that life is going to shove some shit in my way, I'm going to get lost, I'm going to end up losing matches, I'm going to feel alone, but none of that matters as long as I remember that I can get over my obstacles, I can use a map, I can get up from the mat ten times stronger and all the wiser, and that being alone isn't the end of the world but that if i'm lonely I have every right to ask for help, to reach out. I have different sides of me. I choose to be good like you choose to be a hero. Our bad sides don't make us devils, they make us human. So thanks for that Murdock.

Love,

On their latest raid, they unknowingly steal a cure that puts them square between the ailing Emperor of Manhattan and the war hungry Governor of Brooklyn and forces them on a quest into the darkest shadows of their putrefying world

My Musings:
Okay so when I first read the summery I immediately thought that this book was going to be really interesting and an overall great read. As soon as I read the first few sentences of the book I began to like it. I loved the high energy and the suspense and the intensity of the first few chapters. The beginning of the novel, I thought, was spot on in terms of it's ability to hook it's reader. The beginning set up the book nicely and introduced the characters in a great way.
However, as the book went on it lacked the strength and intensity that the initial chapters had. As I continued reading I found myself not really connecting to the character because of the slow moving pace of the novel. I didn't mind the slowness so much as the lack of dialogue and the long internal monologues and descriptions. Because I saw too much over analyzed thoughts and descriptions I lost the initial connection I had with Twist. Furthermore I felt that the dialogue it did have was stiff and awkward at times.
Despite all that I felt like the plot itself was really well thought out, but it did affect the story negatively. The very idea the novel presents intrigued me and I love how the author spun it into in intricate story. I loved the twins and turns the novel took. I really didn't know what to expect half the time. There's a lot of shocking moments in the book and I loved every singe second of it.
Romance wise I didn't think the coupling was all that special. They're cute don't get me wrong, I just don't feel passionate about the romance. This is kind of a good thing because this way the story line takes the front seat and is not over shadowed by an overbearing romance.
I have a confession to make. My favorite character is Dodger. I love his story line and the way he grew as a character. In terms of character development the author did a good job. He presented more than one side of his characters which adds depth to these people we're reading about. That being said, I still didn't feel like these characters were real because I feel they lacked a little bit more depth and more exploration of the different sides of Twist and Dodger etc. But overall I feel like he did a good job making his characters good solid characters.
I honestly enjoyed the book and thought it was a nice summer read for those of us looking to stay away from contemporary novels. If you like cool, dystopian, books with lots of action this is the book you should check out :)

Note: The fact that I received this book for free did not in anyway alter my thought on the book.

Waiting on Four: A Divergent Collection

02 July 2014

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. This month I decided to make this a weekly thing instead of a monthly thing. And this week i'm DYING to read Four by Veronica Roth.

Two years before Beatrice Prior made her choice, the sixteen-year-old son of Abnegation’s faction leader did the same. Tobias’s transfer to Dauntless is a chance to begin again. Here, he will not be called the name his parents gave him. Here, he will not let fear turn him into a cowering child. Newly christened “Four,” he discovers during initiation that he will succeed in Dauntless. Initiation is only the beginning, though; Four must claim his place in the Dauntless hierarchy. His decisions will affect future initiates as well as uncover secrets that could threaten his own future-and the future of the entire faction system. Two years later, Four is poised to take action, but the course is still unclear. The first new initiate who jumps into the net might change all that. With her, the way to righting their world might become clear. With her, it might become possible to be Tobias once again. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth comes a companion volume to the worldwide bestselling divergent series, told from the per-spective of the immensely popular character Tobias. The four pieces included here—The Transfer, The Initiate, The Son, and The Traitor—plus three additional exclusive scenes, give readers an electrifying glimpse into the history and heart of Tobias, and set the stage for the epic saga of the Divergent trilogy.

Okay so why do I want to read this so bad?
Simple, I can't get enough of the Divergent World, and most importantly I really want to know more about Tobias. He's definitely one of my book crushes. I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I'm sure Veronica Roth will do an amazing job with Tobias' new stories and make fans of the Divergent series proud.

My Musings:
On my Top Ten Tuesday Post  I said I had a love-hate relationship with this book. Now let me explain myself.
This book is beyond amazing. The writing is witty, funny and eloquently written. The characters are three dimensional and you really get a feel of who they are. Not just some shallow character cut outs that you find in some books. Sutter and Aimee are incredibly likable characters. And as i said in my TTT post, I LOVE him. He made me laugh, cry which is pretty much all you can ask from a book. Sutter is guy who loves to party and drink whiskey and seven up. He seems like a simple guy but as you read the book you see all the problems that lie underneath his "I couldn't care less" facade. Enter Aimee, a complete sweetheart. She makes him happy and a good person and reminds him he isn't alone. I love their relationship for the most part. They're a really cute couple!
As for Aimee, I love her too. She reminds me a lot of myself and the way I act in high school. Sutter helps Aimee change for the better; he gets her to stand up for herself and follow her dreams. With Sutter she can be a normal teenager. However being a "normal" teenager also comes with drinking and partying and so forth and so on. I kind of felt that she started doing these things for Sutter more than herself. I guess we all do that sometimes, changes stuff for people we like. Not that we should have to. That part of the book did annoy me. Overall I found her to be a lovable, sweet girl who wanted to go to college, was wicked smart and is amazing!
I liked all the other characters. Well at least as much as I was supposed to. Well I liked Ricky up until the end when he stopped being there for Sutter. Cassidy taught Sutter an important lesson, even if Sutter refuses to acknowledge it. They made good supporting characters. I also loved Bob's father-like character! Sutter really needed him and I liked the scenes they had together.
I liked the story line a lot. I loved Sutter! I laughed and cried and wanted to punch people in the face along with him. I swear he gets himself into all sorts of problems. *SPOILER*Like that fire at his sister's house! *SPOILER DONE*It was all leading up to whether or not Sutter was going to change, whether or not he was going to try and fight for his future instead of just now. I kept waiting for something. For him to realize that he needs to fight for his future and focus on that for a change. *MAJOR SPOILER* IF YOU HAVEN"T READ THE BOOK WALK AWAY NOW THEN COME BACK WHEN THIS POST TURNS BACK INTO GREY COLORED TEXT.
OK so here's my only real problem with the book. The ending. If you've read it you know what i'm talking about. of course you've read it because if you haven't your ruining the book for yourself. I wished that Sutter would have changed his mind about living in the "now" and instead decided to go after Aimee (who was probably heartbroken when she finally figured it out that the boy she loves is never going to move in with her.).  It took me a while to realize what this ending actually was. It wasn't a "bad" ending. It was Sutter coming to terms with his own actions. Granted I wished for a different ending but this book is supossed to be about real life. And in real life we get sucky endings. We get endings we don't want. And that's exactly what the author was trying to show. That life sometimes ends chapters for us in really sucky ways. We just have to accept it and move on. Sutter wasn't ready to commit to Aimee and he knew better than to lead her on. He also had no future planned so he goes to a bar and drinks and he comes to terms with his spectacular now and decides it has all been worth it.
Ok those of you that have not read it can start reading from here. Overall this a great book that is perfect for those of you that love John Green, Stephen Chbosky, and Rainbow Rowel. It will take you on an emotional roller coaster but it will leave you breathless.

Rating: 2.5/5

My Musings:
I'm really sad that I didn't like this book. I wanted to so bad but i just couldn't get in it.When I first read the back cover I thought this book would be an easy fun read. I was excited and looking forward to reading it. Most reviews on goodreads were positive so I decided to go out and buy it. I'm kinda disappointed with the book.
The beginning of the story felt awkward and a little forced. It seemed less like and actual beginning and more like the middle section. I felt like the exposition was interrupted by the busy-ness surrounding Morgan. From the beginning I thought the book was moving too fast and not allowing the reader to connect to any of the characters. To say the least the book had a rocky and awkward start.
I love cheesy stories and cutesy things as much as the next girl does but this book took it too far.I think the reason I felt like this book was cheesy was because the characters were terribly underdeveloped and anything they said or did just felt fake. In fact I often felt like many characters only served the purpose of moving the story along. You only saw one side of Adam and Amy and a lot of their actions were geared to help get Morgan find her dad even if they seemed unrealistic. It was this lack of depth and weight that didn't let me connect to any of the characters. Despite some of the things i disliked about the book there were many scenes I liked. The whole thing with her dad was decent. It wasn't anything special but it didn't seem as awkward and forced as other scenes in the book. Or how she confronted her mom about it. There were many good points in the book despite all the problems in the book.
I have to say that my favorite character was Amy. She was so cute and sweet. She had no filter and said what i was thinking and was never afraid to call out Morgan. She made me laugh and cry. I loved the little side romance she had with Morgan's brother. She did seem a little fake and unrealistic and the whole twist in her story line felt like overkill.
The romance was just not my favorite part of the story. It didn't have any depth. However it was cute so i'll give it that. It was sweet though rather rushed and a bit forced.
Overall I was disappointed with the story and didn't really like it. A major reason i didn't enjoy it was because I just couldn't connect with the characters.

My Rating: 4/5
My Musings:
I cant even begin to count the amount of people who told me I needed to read this book. That they know I would love it. That it was an amazing book worth fangirling over.
Let me say that they were absolutely right. I thought that this book was not going to live up to the hype around it. That i was going to be disappointed. I'm really happy I was wrong. Its beautifully written. I love Cinder's sarcastic voice, Kai's charming personality, and Iko's funny bursts of humor. This combination made for the perfect book cocktail.
Characterization was ok. The only characters that were fully developed were Kai and Cinder. Everyone else we just saw shallow characters that only served to play a simple clean role. I wish we could have seen more of Peony, or learned more about her. Or maybe learned more about Cinder's step family. I get that her stepsisters and step mom and inherently evil and have to play the role of the villains but if we can make Cinderella a cyborg we can learn more about her evil family right? Like why is it that Peony actually likes Cinder? Why hasn't her stepmother poisoned Peony against Cinder. I can't help but wonder if this is going to be explored in future novels? However, Cinder and Kai were well developed for the most part. You got to see the Prince as a sarcastic teenager who has to deal with a lot political issues. Cinder just wants to fit in somewhere.
The plot and world building was absolutely amazing. I loved how fast past the novel was. There was always something around the corner ready to happen. And I loved every second of it. As soon as I started it i was hooked. I needed to learn more about this world and how things worked in this futuristic place. I had to learn more about Cinder's life and about the politics of the Commonwealth. The author did a fantastic job in terms of creating a futuristic world that felt believable. I loved the plot. I loved Cinder's role in it.
*SPOILER: I knew after Cinder found out she was Lunar that she was the long lost princess. I did like this twist though. SPOILER DONE*
Romance factor of this novel was beautiful done. I liked that the story didn't revolve around Kai and Cinder. It just happened to be a factor of the story not the star if it. I liked how they fell in love and how their relationship developed. It was slow and cute, exactly my type of romance. I loved how they both share their sarcastic humor. Kai is such a gentleman and you can see he genuinely cares about Cinder. He is absolutely adorable. I love him
Overall this book contained amazing story line within a well created world with really likable characters. Its a great read that I think is worth reading and yes fangirling too :)

Night Before Our Stars Review + Random Ranting/Fangirling

12 June 2014

Okay so my review might be a little late, but I figured better late than never.
If you read the book you know that there is no way to watch this without bringing tissues. So I did. I walked into the movie theater, clutching the poster and the bracelet in one hand and my tissue box in the other. I read the books and I knew there was absolutely no way I was not going to cry. I have to admit I wasn't actually too worried about the movie. The trailers and John Green's approval of the movie made me feel like this could actually be a good movie
As the movie started everyone in the theater started to scream. My friend whispered to me "all the fangirls are here right now". I replied "I know i'm one too". You could tell that everyone in the theater loved this story and where excited to see this story come to life. In other words there was a lot of screaming,"awwing", and sobbing. It was a great experience because I knew everyone in there was just like me; ready to see this beloved story come to life.
The movie itself was amazing. Like literally I have no words to describe the perfection that is this movie. The actors really became Hazel and Gus and Issac. It felt so familiar and new all at once. I loved how true to the book the movie was. They did leave out a few things but to be honest I didn't even care. Most book to movie adaptations change the story too much, this movie didn't do that and I think that's what made everyone one love it. It satisfied the fans of the book and made those who were unfamiliar with the story fall in love with the story and the characters. The thing I loved most about it is that it kept the the message the same. It proved how a short life can still be a good one and that to live a good life you don't have to be loved by many, you just need one.
The acting was phenomenal. The acting was so sincere and genuine. Ansel Elgort really was Gus for me. He brought out this boyish charm that I always pictured Gus having. And when the cancer came back Ansel really delivered in terms of the vulnerability and emotion. It was perfect. I legit started sobbing as soon as he brought Hazel out to the bench and uttered the saddest sentence in the history of life: "I lit up like a Christmas tree Hazel Grace". I didn't stop crying until the end. I'm not even ashamed. I'm actually surprised I didn't cry more. Shailene Woodley was so good. I sobbed when she sobbed, laughed when she laughed. It was just like the book.
Okay now for the soundtrack. I really LOVE the soundtrack. I got it as soon as I got home and have been listening to it nonstop since. I'm listening to it right now. I'm listening to Tee-Shirt by Birdy. I think that the music really captured the emotions of the film and were perfect for the film. I can't tell you just how much I love the music for the movie.
If you haven't watched the film yet I suggest you do, like soon. Its amazing and totally worht the tears you will shed. You will walk out feeling the same as when you read the book. You will see life and love and pretty much everything differently.

Dear Augustus Waters...

06 June 2014

A book should be simple right? It’s just a bunch of pages with scribbles in them. Nothing special whatsoever.  I think we both know that’s not true at all. Books carry messages and themes and motifs that we can relate to. They hold the power to make us laugh in the middle of class during a test or make us sob uncontrollably at three am. It’s kind of like when you read an Imperial Affliction. The book suddenly meant so much more than a thing with words in it, it was something kind of magical. That’s how I, and a lot of other people, feel about your story.

Your story. You deserve way more than the number of pages you got. But then I think about how many stories I've read and the lengths of each one. A short book doesn't suck because it's short. In fact, it can be amazing, full of wonder and myriads of great feats. And that super big and long book in the corner of the library, it could be the most boring thing in the history of the world. So maybe it’s not about how long your story is, but what you do with the words and pages you have? And I have to say you've done a remarkable job. I guess Gus, we just get lucky with time, with our talents and whatever, but in the end it doesn't matter if you don’t do something with it. I know you wanted to change the world, and make people remember you. In the end you did. You changed Hazel’s world, Isaac’s world, your parents’, maybe even Peter Van Houten kind of.And I think that, that is more than enough. Changing, impacting, influencing people for the better, well I think, and I’m sure many people will agree with me when I say, that’s a great way to live life.
And outside of the book, in reality, you did leave your mark on the world. I mean come on, your trending on Twitter.  Obviously people like you. Like a lot.I guess the important thing isn't that people will remember your name but who you were as a person and your personality and whatnot. So thanks for being awesome. Don’t let that go to your head okay? Good. In the book it took 172 pages for all us readers to fall in love with you. And now you've made so many more people fall in love with you. Maybe it’s because you remind people that nice people still exist. Or maybe they just really like your somewhat pretentious but still lovable metaphors. I’m voting for the latter one. What can I say? I’m a sucker for guys who use figurative language in their day to day lives.
I'm writing this at 1:00 am and I just ate a box of starbursts and I’m crying. Now I’m a professional fangirl and I tend to overreact just a tad when it comes to my favorite books and my favorite characters. Just ask anyone of my friends. But see the thing is characters,to me and a lot of other people, aren't just words on a page, people on a screen. They’re real people. They are as real as the book sitting on my desk and the person living next door to me.So you were my friend while I read the book and watched the movie and even after, and maybe I sound a little weird when I say this, but like I said I get overly attached to characters and I wouldn't have it any other way. Not because I don’t have friends. Because I do, I totally do. But because I love being connected to those whom I read about. There are some fictional deaths that you just can’t get over. Yours is one of them.  Maybe it’s because you seemed so real, or because we could all relate to you.  But either way your death broke our hearts. It was like losing a friend. But you, you reminded us that we don’t need to do amazing things to be amazing we just have to be good people and be remarkable for the people we love. And that’s more than enough.

I've been thinking a lot about what Hazel said about infinities. About how some infinities are smaller than others. I agree with her. Sometimes forevers aren’t forever and sometimes they far longer than eternity. I’m so happy that you got a small infinity with Hazel, your perfect girl. I guess what I’m trying to say is that each one of us who read this book, or saw the movie, or both, got to part of this small little infinity too. We got a mini infinity filled with Hazel’s words, your metaphors and Isaac's humor. And I guess I’m thankful for that. I think we all are.
So Gus, I wrote you this letter because I needed you to know what you and this story meant to me and people like me. And you mean a lot to us. You've all shown us what a great life is and what it needs to be and what it doesn't. This letter is kind of jumbled and all over the place but it’s like you said, “My thought are stars I cannot fathom into constellations". Gus, what is there left to say but you made me smile more than any other book character ever and like I said before, I’m glad John Green wrote this book and gave us readers a small infinity with you and Hazel.

Fangirl Book Review

05 June 2014

Release Date: September 10.2013
Book: Fangirl
Author: Rainbow Rowel
Genre: YA Contemporary
Source: Gift

The Basics: A coming-of-age tale of fan fiction, family and first love. Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan...But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to. Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone. For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind? (from goodreads)

Rating: 5/5

My Musings:
I've been fangirling over Fangirl since before I even read it. I saw it on goodread and I thought to myself if i could ever have a book soulmate it would be this. Among my friends i'm known for my fangirling. It's really bad. I was in the movie theater for Catching Fire a few months ago and some of the previews were book trailers and i legit was squealing and jumping up and down in my seat. OVER A TRAILER. Speaking of trailers I can't seem to not cry whenever i watch the full trailer for TFIOS. Anyways i think I've established i'm a fangirl myself.
Ok now for the actual review. I honestly can saw that I fell in love with this book from the get go.
I loved Cath's narrations and the way she thought and described things. I loved her little quirks and her nerdy personality. If she was a real person she would definitely be someone I'd want as a friend. I enjoyed reading about Cath and her journey to become her own person, become, independent, and grow up into such an awesome person. Cath relies on her fanfic about Simon Snow to help her cope with her new found loneliness and her ever present shyness. This aspect of the story was great. It didn't overwhelm the book, but served its role. We even get to read snippets.
Character-wise, Rowel did amazing. All of the characters felt real to me and I found myself caring about each one of the characters. I think a sign of a really good book is being able to feel like the story is real and Rowel does this flawlessly. I really like all the side stories that surrounded Cath. Like her sister's story, or her dads. I adore Rowel's witty, smart and funny writing style.
It was interesting to read about Cath's relationship with her family. Poor Cath was thrown into college life without so much as a speck of support and kindness from her twin sister Wren. I found this sad, but at the same time I understood that booth sisters needed to find their identity outside of each other. I loved her dad! he kept pushing her to do what she needed to do but was often to scared to do. And when push came to shove I loved watching Cath's family rally together.
Romance time! Levi. What can i saw other than he is so perfect. I love him to bits. Especially his eyebrows lol. I like when books have a slow burning, slow happening romance because it makes it feel more real, plus you have more time to decide if you ship it. It also determines the strength of the ship. And let me tell you i ship these two so hard. The only slight issue with the book was that at the beginning of the novel i wasn't sure who was the love interest. Weather it was Levi or this other guy named Nick. Aside from the unsure-ness at the beginning, the romance was eloquently written
Favorite Quotes:
“A little manic was what their house ran on.”

“Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and mildly socially retarded, I'm a complete disaster.”

“Happily ever after, or even just together ever after, is not cheesy,” Wren said. “It’s the noblest, like, the most courageous thing two people can shoot for.”

“But you're so helpless sometimes. It's like watching a kitten with its head trapped in a Kleenex box.”

“You give away nice like it doesn't cost you anything.”

“Emergency dance party--go away.”

“Levi's eyebrows were pornographic. If Cath were making this decision just on eyebrows, she would have been "up to his room" a long time ago.”

“When I’m writing my own stuff, it’s like swimming upstream. Or … falling down a cliff and grabbing at branches, trying to invent the branches as I fall.”

5. Don't Forget About Me  by Kate Karyus Quinn I don't know what it is that intrigues me more the paradise thing or the whole murderous town stuff, but either was I want to know how this ends.
6. Inland by Kat Rosenfield. Vaguley psychological. Hmm sounds like my type of book!
7. Best for last, the thing I have been waiting for since I heard about the movie is finally here. TFIOS Movie is actually happening. It's coming out this Friday. I can't. Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Broke and Bookish. This weeks theme is Top Ten Books that should be in your beach bag.

1) The Mortal Instruments has reached it's end with City of Heavenly Fire. I'm really sad to see this series go, but I can't wait to read this and other Shadowhunter Chronicles.

2)Twenty Boy Summer by Sara Ockler is an amazing book. When I read it a few summers back I could not put it down. It made me feel happy, sad, and every emotion inbetween. This is a must read!

3) If I Stay is heart-wrenching story, but something I think everybody should read. It's also being made into a movie, get a head start and read it before it comes out!
I definitely recommend this to those who love The Fault in Our Stars.

4) Two words: Tobias Eaton. I legit need to read this ASAP
(P.S I couldn't help but make this four)

5) To All The Boys I've Loved Before seems like a fun cutesy read!

6) ) I've always loved everything E. Lockheart and i'm sure We Were Liars is not going to be an exception! Besides who doesn't like a good summer mystery! I'm totally going to bring this on my next beach trip!

7) Ok I have a love-hate relationship with The Spectacular Now, but I mostly love it.  I LOVE Sutter. That kid is probably one of my favorite book characters.

8) Hold Still by Nina LaCour was absolutely amazing! As soon as I heard about Everything Leads to You I knew I had to read it! Also isn't the cover absolutely beautiful??

9) Uninvited seems like an interesting book. Serial killer gene? Falling in love with a potential serial killer? Sounds like a great summer read!

10) Side Effects May Vary seems like a great book! The premise of it is really fascinating.

Because I couldn't help it....

11) When I first read the summary for Love,Inc I thought about John Tucker must die. I have to this book is so much more than a story about revenge. Its a story about getting your heart broken and learning how to move on.

Whats your Top Ten this week??

My TBR list

02 June 2014

I was in Barnes and noble yesterday, aka the happiest place on earth, and it dawned on me that I haven't bought a book in a really long time. So a walked over to the YA section and picked out a few choice novels. I walked out of there with a giant grin, good books, and some Starbucks coffee. The perfect outing. So here are the books on my TBR list that I bought/borrowed from the library. Enjoy!

1) I've heard sooo many good things about this book and the series in general. When I saw it Barnes and Noble I just couldn't say no. So I bought it and it has a good home with me. I'm about a quarter of the way in and it's really good!

2) Social media + messed up life + cute boy= A great summer read. I find the premise of the book so interesting. Can't wait to read!

3) Seems really interesting. It's set in the future where these kids, who are not looking to be heroes, do something that changes everything. They steal a cure. They find themselves in a middle of a war over this new found cure.

3) I've been wanting to read this book for a while but it keeps getting pushed down my very long list of books i want to read. Hopefully by adding it on my official and considerably shorter list i'll actually read it. Plus i really want to read it before the movie comes out. This I got a few months ago as a nookbook.

Dylan O'Brien stars in it. I can't wait. *swoons*

4) It's Kind of a Funny Story has been recommended to me countless times. I legit dove for it the moment I saw it at Barnes and Noble. I'm pretty sure people thought I was crazy. I'm really looking forward to reading it! I think this is one of the books I'm most excited about on this post.

5) I pre-ordered this book on my nook a few days ago. It's about Amy who has cerebral palsy and Mathew who has OCD who become friends and maybe something more. I love the idea behind the books and have heard nothing but good reviews. I'm sooo psyched and ready to fangirl over this book!
